Education & Training

Our education and training profile consists of state and nation-wide programs, as well as independently run courses. We are commiteed to offering techincal and practical training to facilitate an expanded knowledge base to the industry at large, as well as in-house training to ensure the highest level of skill in our staff. We endeavour to make our workshops reflect the most current needs of the industry and make provision for issues that are region-specific. The following is a list of the courses curently being offered. We also welcome any suggestions on topics that you would like presented.

CRCV Research to Practice (RTP) Formal Topics

RTP is a series of workshops put together by the Cooperative Research Centre for Viticulture (CRCV) that can be run individually or in succession.

CRCV Research to Practice (RTP) "Hands On" Series

In addition to the above, more formal workshops, we can run the RTP "Hands On" series of four workshops. These half-day workshops aim to provide practical information and vineyard assessment tools at crucial points throughout the growing season.

ChemCert Courses

These courses provide basic training (2-day course) and reaccredition (1-day course) for chemical handling and application. They are carried out at various locations annually to provide local industries with higher saftey standards. Primary producers may be eligible for a 50% FarmBi$ subsidy.

AHA Workshops

Every year we conduct workshops for the local industry based on ongoing and current issues. These are adverstised in the Margaret River Wine Industry Assocation (MRWIA) newsletters and local press. Past workshops have included a Pruning Workshop, Bud Dissection Workshop and an Environmental Management Systems Seminar.

University Lecturing

We are invited by educational institutions to deliver certain viticultural units. TAFE, Curtin University, and University of Western Australia. These are fantastic opportunities for our staff to provide students with a well-integrated commercial and academic perspective.
